I am a historian of art and ideas, with a particular interest in how images and objects communicate. I specialise in the history and culture of Tudor and late-medieval Britain.
I am a BBC New Generation Thinker 2019, a scheme that gives scholars the opportunity to share their work with wider audiences on BBC Radio.
I am a Research Fellow at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, where I am working on a new history of Tudor art, and a project on Elizabethan art and music.
I am an experienced lecturer, teaching for the University of Cambridge and London museums and galleries, and I am an Accredited Lecturer for The Arts Society. I am also a tutor at the Cambridge Institute for Continuing Education, I convene the MSt in History of Art and Visual Culture. I give talks and teach courses about the art and cultural history of various periods to audiences of all ages and levels of experience.
